The Epic Journey To Ibiza

Word to the wise - They make you get to Mauritius airport 3 hours before your flight (the place is tiny & takes about 30 minutes to get through...). Spending 3 hours in Mauritius airport is bad enough, getting to Mauritius airport to be told that your flight hit a flock of birds on the way over & that you'll be waiting at least 5 hours is excruciatingly painful...

So we got really well accustomed with the observation deck of Mauritius's airport (yeah they still have one there!) & tried on just about every pair of sunnies in the duty free store... Bought a really nasty sandwich with the airline coupon they gave us... Chris wouldn't let me buy Mauropoloy for Brian (sorry Brian!). Think we're over airports yet???

4 hour flight to South Africa, 24 hr layover in Jo'burg (Urghhhh), flight to London that got moved up & then delayed for 1 1/2 hrs. 8 hour layover in London Heathrow (checked out terminal 5 & ended up at the pub!). Finally a flight to Madrid, awesome architecture (see pic of roof below) & some great restaurants & shopping but despite the fact that it was still sunny outside, it was 10pm & everything was closing. Good thing really considering the state of the dollar right now!


At about midnight we boarded our tiny flight to Ibiza with a shady bunch of people & a crew that couldn't perform the safety demonstration for cracking up!... Hmmm we must really want to go to Ibiza after all that!!!! But hey the flight was only about 40 minutes yet we still got fed Marconi almonds & a drink!

At about 1.30am this morning we finally rolled up at Finca Can Toni. Totally knackered! After 48 hours of travelling & 5 airports we're totally ready to party!
